ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Women's Council, a volunteer service organization that supports the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC),

presents its 2011 "Artistry in Thread." This unique event celebrates the fiber arts, featuring displays and demonstrations by guilds and exhibitors of thread and yarn work. The event takes place in the

Eisenhart Auditorium on the RMSC campus, and runs from 10am-4pm on Saturday, April 30 and 11am-4pm on Sunday, May 1.


Location: RMSC Eisenhart Auditorium, 657 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607

Dates/Times: 10am-4pm on Saturday, April 30 and 11am-4pm on Sunday, May 1

Admission: $4 per person. Free for children 12 and under.


In addition to the displays and demonstrations,

"Artistry in Thread" features Fiber & Related vendors, a quilt raffle, silent auction as well as a rug hooking workshop and a quilting trunk show. There's also a special exhibit from the RMSC collections.
Admission is $4 per person, and free for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door. All proceeds benefit the RMSC.
The Women's Council is a volunteer service organization that supports the RMSC with special events and fundraising activities. Founded in 1941, the council is dedicated to providing members with opportunities for educational growth and social interaction.



This is an exciting re-start of an event that was very successful & missed in the area

if you are a local NY fiber enthusiast it would be a great learning experience as well as a way to shop & get your fiber fix...lol
